Where does it have to be done...how much does it cost?

I just took delivery of my crate that just came in from Japan with an assortment of Supras(MK3s and MKIVs) ranging from stock to WOTM style and power.

I have heard that its impossible to do it. Unless you get a company like Motorex to do it for you. Seriously its not worth it.

motorex can't help you, they're pretty much gone. The supra is not on the NHTSA Vehicle Eligibility List SO DON'T BOTHER.

List is here:

Now someone lock this thread please.

In 2008, we'll be able to get 1993 supras into Canada. It's a 15-year rule over here and that's why we've got a bunch of R32s on the west coast.

So basically in 2 years, expect supra prices to fall since once it's reg'd in Canada, I'm sure you can reg it from Canada to the US.

That's cool.

Hey btw...what would happen if you were cought with an illegal one, or is it even possible to get insurance with them?

Highly doubtful. What? Do you think the people overseas who will be exporting them are stupid? The cars that they bought for around $15,000USD THERE will be selling them to people who want to import for a VERY high premium.

Your logic :urowned:'s you.

If I'm in Japan and notice a lot of MKIV's exporting, you can have mine for $35K USD. THEN you still have to have it legalized. Keep dreaming though. :bigthumb:

What if I want to import vehicles from ENGLAND and lets say they are owned by A BANK, and I let MY WIFE drive this stolen vehicle, after it was on the news they were LOOKING FOR THIS BLACK SLR MERCEDES, WHICH IS STOLEN...how would I go about doing a legal RI?

You have to realize that those MKIVs are also hardtop and low mileage (as per the japanes law). I expect them to sell for around $22k (which is what the R32 GTRs are selling for here), which again, if you consider the mileage and such, is a good deal.

Let's not also forget that since there will be a great surplus, dealers will be competing to sell their imported cars, which drives down prices. The MKIV will definitely not be as rare as it is now once 2008 arrives, and the west coast will take the biggest hit.

Impossible to insure, because they wouldn't pass US inspection most likely. Getting it over here in one piece... customs would sieze it first. Should you somehow manage to get it on the streets in the US... it would be confiscated and crushed if you get caught with it.

Keep dreaming and waiting for 2008 to roll around. I swear, kids these days. They think they know more about plastic surgery than a plastic surgeon, more about medicine than a doctor, more about investments than a stock broker, etc etc.

RRrrrright, because you must be the king of importing japanese cars

What exactly was your argument? That you're going to sell me your supra for 35k? You just :urowned: yourself, idiot.

Unlike you, I live in a country that can legally import 15-year old jap cars and have first hand experience seeing the abundance of skylines on my city streets, and I live on EAST coast. When I talk to people on the west coast, they see more skylines than any other tuner car on the street.
What do you think is going to happen when supras will be legal for import? Yes there will be a premium but it's not going to be sky high since importers will be able to lower their prices to compete with other importers and still make a large profit. It's no longer the case where you bought your car for $30k and you will insit on selling it for $30k and no lower. They will be more and more of them and it will drive prices down.

Uuuuuuuuuuuh, I live in NY.

But oh well, I'm done arguing. Just wait till 2008, like you said. Again, keep dreaming.

ok what dont you get exactly. there is a whole industry based around sending JDM cars to canada, and its a fairly straight forward affair as well. anything 15 years old or more from the day of production, is clear to enter canada, with no crazy legalization process either.
why do you think i can go into the states, buy almost any 91 or older vehicle, drive it home, and register it at my transportation ministry as if i had bought it across the street.

when the supra is 15 years old from the day of production, i.e. 2008, they will be sent here by the boat loads! maybe youre not aware how much mkiv's go for here in canada. 25k + for NA's at times. horribly overpriced. meanwhile you can find r32 skylines, fairlady z's, s13 silvia's, etc, in abundance, for CHEAP, locally.

i know a guy who moved to jdm land to teach english, and ended up staying to open an export business when this importation thing was first starting to florish
basically all he does is find a couple of skyline's for sale locally (abundant as shit) take a few pictures, and close a deal with someone in canada. charge a $1,000 processing fee, mark it up a few hundred, sell one a week, and youre making some good cash sending old cars to canada, for not much work.

apply that logic to mkiv's in 2008, majority of which are HT 6SPD TT for reasonable prices in comparison to the american market, and canadians will be seeing some cool mkiv's for relatively cheap. this is fact, and only a question of time.

only thing to consider is that it wont quite be a USDM mkiv is like. not everyone is willing to drive a RHD car on LHD roads, and theres always the fact that JDM mkiv is considered weaker to the USDM counterpart in many ways.

till then, you can stop running your mouth about subjects you know nothing about, and put it back to work running it up and down your boyfreinds cock

Ok.

Tell you what. I'll take 2 R32 Skylines then. I live in NY, set this up and I'll be more than happy to pay. Give me a price. I will NOT give you my e-mail. I would like for you to post the price up, right here. In this thread.

Thanks,

Anthony

are your reading and comprehension skills that poor?

i live in canada. we get skylines here. i see skylines on the streets. you are in the usa. you dont get shit. ill send you a couple of r32's, sure. gts, gts-t, gtr, whatever you want. good luck getting them registered

just because we can bring them here, doesnt mean you can bring them over them over from us
