Mounting things in place of the tems contoller and the cigarette ligher and modifying a glove box have been done since 1987

The guys that really have innovative and unique things in their cars are ron r and duane. Custom billet parts, dry sump setup, custom exhaust manifold, motec ecu and instrument display mil spec connectors, etc..

Bryan chopped it up and scrapped it. He is out of Supra's for good, and is now building his race bike and planning to start on his Chevelle again soon. You should give him a call, I'm sure he wouldn't mind hearing from you.

Besides, it depends on what everyone's definition of simple is. To someone, simple might be putting a boost gauge where the lighter was, to others it is dropping a 9" and 4 link setup in. All it takes is a lot of measuring, cutting and welding;)

I missed the "simple" portion of th original post. In that case ron r and duane are out of the running. Lol.

Plans for this fall/winter include:

- White LED dash conversion
- Temperature gauge in place of the cigarette lighter
- Apex'i Neo in place of the ash tray
- Turbo timer in place of the TEMS switches

Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post soon...

I'll have to disagree with the high end parts being the only "unique" mods worthy of mentioning. Some of the most unique things I have seen done to cars were with junkyard parts, scrap steel and ingenuity. Unique doesn't have to involve emptying the checking account, at least not to me. I am not saying high end mods cannot be unique, but I would rather see the homegrown, low dollar mods that required a lot of creativity on the part of the designer.

Whats a mil-spec connector?... does it give me v-tech power?

I can haz unique mods yo?

I'm sure he's very familiar with amphenol connectors.

The whole Military-Spec term. is getting annoying.
There are plenty of non military spec. amphenol / circular interconnects out there.

To answer the OP's question, I have nothing to post. :D

I know a lot of us have installed aftermarket gauges in the cluster. But this one was the first factory looking one I have seen, and was mechanical. Of course a few people have followed after this one. I still think it's simple, effective and sexy :)
