Ive been daily driving 8psi @ stock compression since July.......So far so good! ohnoes:
Honestly even on a healthy motor, thats the max i feel i can run safely.

 

i hit 14 psi on it once.. my waste gat line blew off and it just shot up.. but it didnt blow. but other guys say that 10-12 is the highest and thats the red zone!

 

not enough psi for you not to just go ahead and to the headgasket swap

but in all reality if your just turboing for the first time, you can run 8-10 safely with a good tune, that should keep you happy for a while untill you get boost thirsty, happens to everyone

 

7-8psi here for about a year and a half now. Still pretty fun, but I can't keep up with a BPU on the freeway. I've been wanting to install a boost solenoid along with my W-M injecection kit and run about 12psi. I figure that would get me up to a healthy bpu level.

 

would I be able to run higher psi by running a AEM EMS and getting bigger injectors??

 

The simplest way would be to just go ahead and put a bigger headgastket on. Its not that hard to do. But depending on how big of injectors and what you are already using to tune, then yes a better fuel management system and possibly bigger injectors may be needed as well. But for right now, the headgasket is what is gonna hold you back the most.

10 psi and I check the head tq specs regularly.

 

I've been @ 10psi for about 2 years, no issues. I turned it up to 14psi for about 2 months but detuned for several reasons.

 

As of right now, I just want to keep it at 10 psi. Are stock injectors able to handle 10 psi??

 

Not likely. At 7-8 psi with stock compression I was at 320 to the wheels ( I use 550cc injectors). The stock 330cc/m injectors will flow enough for about 300whp, beyond that, you'll want larger ones.

 

I ran 10psi on a SP74 for over a year with no issues. 400rwhp on the dyno.

 

Badass! Since I finally raced another supra on the freeway I've been wanting to up the boost on mine.

 

I'm on stock injectors and FPR right now, and I start to get uncomfortably lean at around 5 or 6 psi.
