about 2 weeks ago my 89 camry developed a lumping in the steering wheel that sped up with the rotation of the wheel as I went faster. I checked the tires for a bubble or anything and didn't see anything wrong so I procrastinated a little on it...well now it makes a very very loud clanking / clicking noise. It is in the left front tire. It is worse when turning left, bad when going straight, and almost non exsistant when turning right, or even on a 45 degree bend. My friend looked at it briefly and said from what he could see the cv joint / axle is fine. It also seems to get a tad bit louder when breaking. Also when first driving the car it's not a[arent but worsens as driving.

Any ideas? could it still be the cv joint?

yea, well i bought new tie rod ends and struts cause the struts are beyond shot. they're so shot it's setting my camber off and bother tires are worn on the inside.

my friend said the cv joint boots weren't broken...anything else that could be wrong with them?

Also I think i forgot to mention..it's a consistant sound...like it always makes the same sound9s0 at the same time..like with every revolution of the tire no matter how fast / slow it's going..even if like 2 mph roll

would a cv joint make the same noise over and over as the wheel turns? I dunno, I'll hopefully get to it sometime this week so I'll post up what we did and if it fixed anything
