Question about changing the clutch on the R154

My clutch kit only came with a new pilot bearing and a new clutch release bearing (thrust bearing). I resurfaced the stock flywheel and I'm pretty much good to go, but I have 1 question:

Should I purchase a new clutch realease bearing hub assembly to change that also, or is it safe to reuse these parts?

It looks like the stock clutch release bearing hub assembly is going to be a bitch to take apart. I really hate dealing with snap rings and things that press fit into other things.

Cliffs:

Should I also replace the clutch release bearing hub, plate washer, thrust cone spring, plate washer, wave washer, and snap rings along with changing the clutch?

Thanks,
Walt

It isn't that hard to take apart and put back together, but I don't remember changing mine when replacing my clutch disc. I don't remember ever having a problem with mine either. The only problem I ever had was tearing up the clutch discs or welding them to the fly wheel.

I just took the assembly apart with some snap ring pliers borrowed from work and they pretty much came right off. The pliers were a bit too small, but I was able to start the process of getting the snap rings off with the ring pliers I had.

Considering the age of the car you will want to replace the pilot and release bearings. A set of snap ring pliers will get that bad boy off in no time.

FWIW the TSRM mentions checking/replacing the bearing but doesn't even mention checking the hub. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=CL&P=14
Sweet - looks like I have everything that i need then. The springs, washers and snap rings appear to be in good condition.
