I'm going to kill two birds with one stone here and introduce myself (being new to the forums =D ) and taking this time to show my interior modifications so far. About a month ago I did as most teenagers do and purchased there own car, I had been researching on craigs list and found this beauty, 1988 Supra na and immediately was attached. I wish I knew what I was getting into.

The stock interior being the ugly burgundy color I decided that needed to go and be replaced with a flat black semi gloss kyrlon plastic paint with dark grey carpeting to go along with it.

First things first, removal of the front seats:

Next was the back seats:

After wards the back vinyl side paneling along with the plastic coverings along the trunk:

Yay for paint fumes!

Insertion of the plastic trunk paneling:

Pull out the dash, steering wheel and center console, paint them black now too, and do it right the first time.
I just redid mine, I'll throw up some pics soon too. I need to redo the back now.
The back looks good though.(carpet could have been a little darker)

BTW I pulled my dash out in about 30-40 min

For all of the plastic pieces, I'm using Krylon satin black plastic paint, but it takes a lot of it for good coverage.

looks good, i hated my red interior!
.

lol I know the feeling, heres what I did with mines

I am not done yet, I took a break its to damn cold
Any recommendations on how to remove dash more efficiently and easily? It just snowed here and I'm freezing my ass off, might have to throw in my drivers side seat and go mess around with my other friends (saab and tiburon) on the snow :gaysex:

Dash removal is really easy but just time consuming, it took me about two hours but it was my first time with the MK3 and only my 2nd over all. Sorry recall all the bolt exactly but the online Manuel should be able to help you out.

Actually my dad teaches music at a local private school :ugh2: but when he was growing up he had to work on big Uhaul's and 18 wheelers. But I'm real lucky I have such a big garage, it's coming in handy especially since it just snowed a couple inches yesterday.

"norf cack".....? NC I'm guessing

The black-on-black is turning out well!

Tha dash is pretty easy yo pull once you've done it one or two times. I personally hate pulling the c-pillar trim. Always wants to break on me.
No lie, dash was the hardest part, but right now I"m stuck in a buying dilemma. A pair of Bride racing seats, or new carpet kit for the whole car and scrap my crappy carpeting job. :run:

Goddamn, I'm to lazy to remove a dash out of a car. Let alone I get pissed off when I have to do it at work. Nissan heater cores FTL.

Wow! BRAVO on the effort ur putting into this after only owning it for a month! u have done more in a few days than some do in years!

edit: i would recomend while its all apart, u should probably go ahead and remove those panels u just put in and may as well shoot the interior red paint to black paint so u dont see it through the vents/spaces between the panels etc. unless u plan to re-shoot the entire car in and out down the road. cause to take all that apart again to "clean it up" will be a pain in the ass again. :p

Damn to late =( haha, but i think it doesn't look that bad any way, I think someone would have to be taking a picture on it with the flash right up next to it to tell anyways. Now that I got the interior out of the way on to performance.

Hey looks good man! Glad to see more peeps getting in and doing their own work. Like others have said, you might rethink the seats and just have them recovered if the skins are not in great shape. They are actually pretty comfortable, and you can't beat the amount of adjustment you can get from them. Only seats I like better are from the Mk2 Supra =)
Yea I sat in the seats today and they weren't that bad, I'm still in the decision phase though.

ALLL DONE!:

Although the carpet is now back to the original red, i have the grey under which makes it a lot less noisy and acts as extra insulation.

Shitty camera makes it look bad but dash was replaced with all red LEDs. Although you can't tell these baby's GLOW.

I guess the color just threw me off, I guess since i couldn't see any other parts that were that blue it made it stand out ALOT, and yea same here, I'm a poor ass teenager cleaning tables and making pizzas.
