Please move to the correct category. I was unsure about what category this belongs under.

I have searched and come up empty handed. I'm looking for an individual/business that offers the climate control LED swap for the MKIV. Not comfortable and don't have the experience needed for soldering that small, especially on my $400 motherboard. In particular, the 11 soldered bulbs, and 5 pnp bulbs.

Thanks in advance guys!

Stu does a great job but ledguys.net are coming out with a plug and play hvac kit. Not sure how good it will be but it's an option.

No doubt, nothing compared to Stu's.

If you are good with soldering, give it a try.

I just did it last week. A bunch of 5mm led's, soldering board and some 1k and 2k resistors.

+1 Stu Is the king with regards to a led conversion, he offers the cluster and ac unit together as an upgrade to your already existing parts.
Your ac buttons fade to yellow over time, another feature which I personally admire is that it offers a dimmer feature, which I like. Also,
he can remove your older cluster tach and change things around. Its your opinion who and what you choose, personally I admire his work and
effort and it shows when I turn my key on, its not a regular led bulb that you put in and thats all there is a difference calibration etc.

As many have stated, Stu. He also has a Facebook community page that you can search for and see numerous examples of his fine work.

If you're looking for another alternative, LED Guys.net have plug and play bulbs for the guage cluster and working on HVAC ones. But I won't give any more detail on which is the much, much better choice for a good, high end result.

feel like if you own a supra and havent dealt with stu its a must... He gave me his personal number to always have and call if i need anything. If i drove the damn thing more id probably have stu do more stuff smh. Stu did my hvac unit and all new buttons !!!

You don't touch those.

The main issue with the HVAC lighting is the backlight, which is made by a series of 12v bulbs. If you notice the pic i posted above, i did not touch anything on the OEM boards so the green indicator oem led's are still untouched and they light up just fine. Only reason to change them is if you want a different colour.

Ledguys are coming up with replacement screw in led bulbs that increase the button backlights. Same as what they offer for the cluster and that is what i used on mine.

As you see below, the buttons light up from the 3 holes on the board, where you see the "arrow" sign, that's where the screw in bulbs go. The white cover strip led's are for the button indicator lights. No need to change those.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I have been doing these Supra LED upgrades for about 5 years. There was a thread at one point for my work here. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?682656-My-speedo-and-HVAC-LED-conversion-by-stu. I also do have a specific FB page dedicated to all my LED stuff. https://www.facebook.com/Stu-Hagen-361958853881688/ It started out as something for my Supra only and blossomed once people asked me to do theirs. 500 HVACs and Clusters later I am still doing these.

My work isn’t anywhere near the cost (I think) on what the LED guys do. I used to sell these "bulb kits" but they just do not do justice for the overall lighting. So I designed custom made circuit boards. These are somewhat plug n play, but the work involved modifying all the internal plastic pieces and wiring is a bit much. It is also imperative that you replace ALL the on-board resistors otherwise the indicators are blinding. It has to be done just right so it lasts forever; being cautious of not shorting out the LEDs to any bare metal. I have done a few previously modified HVACs and I wonder how they lasted as long as they did. My boards are double insulated to protect against shorting. They provide very even lighting and can be made in whatever colors you want. It does take a lot of work doing a HVAC, like 8 hours + but the finished product is a lifetime thing.

This is an older shot of the actual circuit boards that go inside the unit.

Here is a picture of the lower row installed (like the picture above from Jdmsup)

This is a picture of a finished unit in my "standard" lighting color scheme.

For the instrument cluster I use micro needle circuit boards and LED strips.
Micro LED circuit boards to illuminate the needle.

Internal wiring using 1 meter of 5050 7k LED strips; Positioned to give best overall lighting.

I have over 50 different style faces for LHD and RHD. What I don’t have can be made quite easily.

nuts on too 9k...never tested on the street, but it reads perfect on my frequency generator to 10k. I am now testing to see if a genuine TRD 10k face works well on an OEM 8k tach mechanism, If this works, then this solves the no longer available TRD tach. Just slap on a $50 face to your existing 8k tach.

Hmm the guy quite huh? I knew of one guy that was doing MKIIIs and was doing them in the way I do mine. I will have to see if this could be the same guy. What I would need is a used cluster and HVAC and a full manual so I can get the specifications. The design the circuit boards and such. It would take some time. Took me well over a year to perfect the MKiV.

Stu

PS: Your not the only "platform" I have been asked to do....

Jon Gautier (SupraVirtu) was doing them but posted up all his remaining stock on Facebook, including some bezels and other misc stuff.

Sounds like you've got enough work then haha, but if you're feeling frisky I can send you my HVAC cluster. I don't have any manual other than what's in the EPC...there was a guide on supramania on LED locations in the HVAC cluster, how many etc, that's all I know from memory.

Keep in mind that my work is a bit above and beyond the DYI way. HVAC is $225 and new buttons are $70 (my cost). Cluster is $275 + custom faces which are $50ea or $150 for all 3. Can do just about any design. But one above is what I stock for the most part.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Phone went for a swim and couldn't reply earlier. Stu seems to know what he's doing (understatement). Stu, once I have my car out of storage ill shoot you another PM. Very reasonable prices and sharp looking product.
