most likely you will be living in bernalillo so you will have to get emissions testing. can't you keep your car registered (for now) in hawaii?

im stationed at Kirtland and live in los lunas where there is no emissions

If you have a physical living address in the city of Albuquerque, you need to have emissions done on the car.

 

Probably gonna register it in Texas. As far as out of state vehicles, how does that go? Still gotta do emissions?

 

No...if you are in the military and your residence isn't tx or fl, yer doin' it wrong
register your vehicle in one of those two states and you are set...

 

The only time you have to worry it is if you are located in Albuquerque proper. But I have seen a few emissions places in Santa Fe but that doesnt mean anything.
Its interesting to know that you guys in Rio Rancho and Beranillo don't have to worry about it

 

Emissions in Santa Fe? We have Zero emissions testing here and in fact not 1 single place in all of Santa Fe that even has the equipment to do an emissions test. Ran into that issue just recently.

Over all registering in NM is your best bet as it is WAY cheaper here then in both TX and AZ>
